Rserving Tennessee On-Premises Responsible Serving® of Alcohol
This program has been approved by the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission as currently satisfying the requirements contemplated by the Alcohol Server Responsibility and Training Act of 1995.
Each on-premise manager, assistant manager, and/or anyone serving liquor, wine and high content beer at an establishment with a Liquor-By-the-Drink license (license for on-premises consumption) is required to have a valid server permit. Server permits are issued by the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
You must successfully complete a certified alcohol awareness training program, such as this program, and apply for your permit within 1 year of completing the training. Completing a class is not the same as obtaining your official server permit. You must apply to the TABC in order to receive your permit.
The fee for this online course includes the mandatory $15 state filing fee but does not include the $20 server permit application fee to be submitted to the state with your server permit application.
A new server has 61 days after being hired to complete training and obtain a Server Permit. This is a one-time grace period for new hires only. The grace period does not apply when you change from one employer to another.
Tennessee Server Permit Renewal Information: To renew your Server Permit, you must do the following before your current permit expires:
- Retake and successfully complete an approved training course, such as this course.
- Submit a renewal application through your online account on the Tennessee RLPS system.
